"Baal Chaupaal A NJ Nonprofit Corporation" (a.k.a. "Baal Chaupaal, Inc." and referred to hereafter BC) is  a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, based in United States of America

Baal Chaupaal (Global Voice of Children) is a global children’s magazine aimed at promoting writing, reading, and artistic expression by the kids and for the kids. Articles include children-centric fiction, poem, artwork, and photos by both privileged and underprivileged kids mostly written in English (some in Hindi),  and  the magazine is currently being distributed in USA, India, UK, Australia, Singapore, and New Zealand. Adults can contribute to the articles as well, but most of those are from children. The magazine is a unique initiative in terms of its global reach, contribution, and readership. Presently Baal Chaupaal is published quarterly, and we hope to publish it monthly in future. The first issue of Baal Chaupaal was published in April 2012. Baal Chaupaal is published by BC registered under section 501 (c) (3) of IRS.

Both print and digital versions of Baal Chaupaal are currently available to the readers. They can be purchased at our web site www.baalchaupaal.org as well as at other outlets such as Amazon.com, eBay, and Pressdisplay.com.

Vision & Mission Statement

Vision: To
provide a forum where children can exchange ideas and feelings through writing and/or art to foster a world of love and care for all.

Mission: To enable children worldwide the opportunity and medium in which they can express themselves through writing and/or art, regardless of ethnicity, socio-economic background, and religious orientation. The BC organization provides an open and unbiased platform for both privileged and underprivileged children to explore and create literary and artistic works for publication globally. We aspire to be the premier publication for the children, by the children and a portion of our proceeds will go towards promoting access to education and healthy lifestyles to children throughout the world.

An Idea Conceptualized: The idea of Baal Chaupaal  magazine  was conceptualized in October 2011 by Ms. Pankhuri Jha in collaboration with various affiliates of Ark Foundation, New Delhi, India. Pankhuri, then a 12th grader attending High School in New Jersey, came  up with the idea after volunteering at Ummeed Aman Ghar, an all-boys shelter in New Delhi, India during the summer of 2010. Together with Ark Foundation, BC was created to provide a medium in which children from across the globe, both privileged and underprivileged, would be able to express themselves through literacy and art. BC was officially formed in March 2012.

Ark Foundation was created in the mid-1990's by research scholars from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. Observing the lack of resources within slum-area schools so close to their own academic institution, the group was motivated to make a small beginning by using their knowledge and skill-sets to provide learning centers for slum children. Ark Foundation brings a holistic approach for educating children, with its programs extending to cover both health and environmental issues. Ark began its work in 1995 and received formal registration under the Society Registration Act (1860) in 2002.
